Children's Programs

Miss Susan is constantly thinking up new and exciting programs to enlighten and entertain our young patrons and their families.  This list is meant to give you a sampling of programs we've offered in the past.  Check our events calendar for our most current programs, dates and time.

Programs are designed for the specific ages they are offered for.  Please be respectful of our programming parameters.

Babies (Birth to 18 months)

  • Lapsit & Linger: Babies and caregivers can join Miss Sue for age appropriate rhymes, songs, bounces and fun. Caregiver participation is required.

  • Sensory Day: Babies can play and explore our various sensory stations that will encourage your little one's curiosity and sense of wonder through touch, sight and sound!

Toddlers (18 months to 3 years)

  • Tiny Tots: Join Miss Sue for stories, songs, rhymes and other age appropriate silliness such as, bubbles and freeze dancing.  Caregiver participation required.

  • Sensory Day: Toddlers can play and explore our various sensory stations that will encourage your little one’s curiosity and sense of wonder through touch, sight and sound.

Preschoolers (3 years - 5 years)

  • Little Artists:  Age appropriate Art projects for children 3-6 and their caregivers.

  • Little Scientists: Wacky, wild STEAM based experiments and creative play for children 3-6 and their caregivers.

  • Get Ready for Kindergarten: Children entering kindergarten this August are invited to practice the skills that will help them become successful kindergarteners. Miss Colleen will share stories, songs and lots of other fun activities.

Programs for School Age Kids (5 years & up)

  • Legos:  Bimonthly building for all our LEGO enthusiasts!

  • Summer Reading:  Reading can be one of the many fun activities children fill their time with during the summer.  Studies show that children who participate in a public library summer reading program avoid the dreaded summer slide. Our young patrons are encouraged to read throughout the summer with stickers, prizes, fun games and weekly programs!

Guidelines for Baby and Toddler Programs

  • Please attend only one Tuesday program. Check out our monthly calendar for other age appropriate programs.

  • Baby and toddler programs require caregiver participation.  Your child will be more involved if you are participating in the fun too.

  • Conversations are distracting.  Please chat with friends after our program.

  • Babies and toddlers need transition.  Please be on time.

  • We all have bad days! If your child is crying, not wanting to participate or being disruptive, please take him/her out of the room. Try again in a bit or next week.

Please contact Susan for more details and to schedule an outreach program or visit.
