Featured Bands & Artists
Sunday, January 25 – The Wandering Hours Bluegrass Band – Have a
foot-stompin’ great time with this five-member group of talented
musicians. Their take on traditional American string music combines
old-time, early bluegrass and folk. They harness powerful lyrics and
uplifting melodies using fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar and upright
bass, playing original music as well as some of the important songs
and tunes from previous eras.
Sunday, February 22 – Florida Wind Band Chamber Series – Lose yourself
in a story older than time, where every whisper draws you closer to the
heart. Five exceptional reed musicians and an eloquent narrator bring
to life the timeless Greek myth of Eros and Psyche—a tale of love veiled
in mystery, tested by trust, and redeemed by faith. In Whispers of the
Heart, the virtuoso reed quintet and narrator will leave you awe-struck.
Sunday, March 22 – Jennings & Keller – Revisit a significant era of
American music when this talented husband and wife duo from South
Florida presents “Judy, Joan and Joni”, a tribute to three of the most
significant female folk singers of the 1960s. Judy Collins, Joan Baez,
and Joni Mitchell are icons whose impact and relationships have
enriched the tapestry of folk music and social activism. Revisit the
songs of three women who helped elevate women’s voices in a
male-dominated industry and who helped shape the social
consciousness of their era, advocating for peace, equality and
environmental stewardship.
Sunday, April 26 - Karina Hernandez – Spice things up with an
extraordinary musician well-versed in jazz and Latin music including
samba, salsa, rumba, cha-cha, flamenco, tango, bolero and even
mariachi. The violinist and vocalist, who also plays guitar and piano,
was born in Mexico and has spent the last 20 years performing
throughout the United States and her native country. Her musicality
is matched only by her versatility, captivating crowds with her musical
prowess and affable stage presence.
