About the Director
Anne Maire Nurnberger is originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she was born and raised. She earned her BA in Archaeology from Queen’s University Belfast, graduating in 1999, and spent several years working as a professional archaeologist throughout Ireland. During that time, her work increasingly focused on archives and collections management, leading her to further specialize with a Master’s degree in Artefact Studies from University College London in 2003.
Following the completion of her graduate studies, Anne Maire began her library career in the United States at the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Library at Colonial Williamsburg, where she worked extensively with collections related to the American Revolution. She later took a career break to start a family and relocated to Florida.
When her children were both in elementary school, Anne Maire returned to the profession with a part-time position at Dunedin Public Library. Over the course of eight years, she progressed through several roles, ultimately serving as Head of Circulation. During this time, she also earned a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
In 2025, Anne Maire joined East Lake Community Library as Assistant Director. In March 2026, she became Director of the library, bringing with her a rich background in archaeology, archives, and public librarianship, along with a strong commitment to community-focused library service.
