We did it!
The dream of additional library space for the East Lake Community Library is finally coming to fruition!
A 2-phase expansion plan has been drawn up by Architect John Toppe of St. Petersburg.
Phase 1 includes a large community/multi-purpose room, enclosure of the front entry for the Friends Book Nook, and additional office space for our staff. Phase 2 will enlarge the library to become adequate for our growing community according to Florida State Library Standards.
Implementation of Phase 1 is clearly in sight. Grants and savings already in place will fund much of the cost, but approximately $100,000 is still needed for Phase 1.
